Reverse PR: The Paparazzi, Clinton, and Iraq

Posted on December 1, 2007 by Katherine Carr |

Yesterday was another sad day in the history of this great nation. On the news, we found out that the movie stars are now chasing the paparazzi in anger. Why are photographers allowed to go so far that they infringe on a person’s privacy to the extent it is all but nonexistent? Fair game…I think not. Did we go too far??? Can we really say that no one in public life has any rights anymore? What about their families who are not in the glitz?

Yesterday another person staged a conflict in NH to draw attention to themselves. Well, we do put every Tom, Dick and Harry on the front page for negative behavior. Can we stop some behavior by practicing good journalism?? I know sensationalism replaced suggestion after Poe and Cronkite, but it is still not the truth.

Today we learned the surge in Iraq is working. How do we get out of that…..that…..we need to withdraw even quicker? Has politics gotten so warped that the right thing is lost in the politically correct (or advantageous) thing. Have we as Americans lost our sense, values, and traditional honor?

Those of you who know me know the last group I would defend is Hollywood, but I would still defend their rights as people. Last I heard, we are still equal in this country. Those of you who know me would know she is the last person on earth I would vote for, but she deserves protection and not the kind of stunt used for personal PR. Those of you who know me know I am sickened by the liberal view that anything anti-Bush (right or wrong) is ok to say. What about the good of the country and our allies? Are we really so warped we cannot admit when we are wrong because then we would have to admit Bush did something good and right.

I would like to be at the original Tun Tavern tonight sitting with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin. I would ask them what their vision of personal rights was, their vision of justice, and their feelings about freedom for this country and anyone we pledge to help gain the freedom we sacrificed to have and share. I would ask them what they would do about posers, bully’s, and quitters. It would be very interesting.

In regards to their vision of personal rights, justice, freedom…they’d probably tell you to purchase slaves and then read the Preamble over and over again.

I’m not exactly sure what point to take away from this blog. You talk about paparazzi and the media, which are not the same thing, you then jump into the Iraq troop surge and Bush being a saint and savior. What was the point again? I am missing it…

You then wonder why “the liberals” just don’t understand the concepts which you clearly believe you have a grasp on. Perhaps the reason is because you can’t articulate them concisely and coherently. I am willing to listen, but I’m going to need a structured thought with a goal to follow.
