Love at First “Site”

Yahoo.com news posted a story about New York web designer Patrick Moberg and his quest for the girl of his dreams.  I had to blog about this because I thought it was terribly romantic!!

Riding a subway train on November 4, Moberg (21 years old) locked eyes with a girl writing in her journal.  He says it was love at first sight.  Unfortunately, he lost her in the busy crowd when they both exited the train.  Not a surprising story- we all know or have experienced this “love lost” scenaro.  But, as if taking a cue from chick flick romantic style,  it seems Moberg doesn’t give up on cupid.

With an appeal for help to find her, Moberg dedicated a website to finding the girl-  www.nygirlofmydreams.com.  On the front page, he posted a drawing of the girl, as she was when he saw her, wearing blue shorts, blue tights, and a red flower in her hair.  He posted when and where he saw the girl, his cell phone number, and his email address.  Then, he just waited.

Within hours, he had several replies through emails and phone messages.  Moberg explained that many of the calls were girls who just loved what he was trying to do and offered themselved to him.  “Some people said I’m not the girl but you’re so adorable, pick me instead.”

When love struck, it seems it’s not impossible to find one anonymous girl in a city of eight million people.  Just two days after he first saw her, a friend of the “subway girl” contacted Moberg with information and even sent a picture to confirm her identity.  Quickly, he updated his website: “Found Her!  Seriously!”.

Camille Hayton (22) can’t believe Moberg would go to all this trouble.   I can’t believe it worked.  But, as I have recently come to believe in love at first sight myself, I’m very much rooting for them.

I hope he updates the site with a picture of their first date!  Sigh!

Sept. of 1966 I laid eyes on the most gorgous, kind, smart, anad funny guy ever. He was the love of my life at that moment and still is. Feb. 12th we will celebrate our first date ( forty years ago ). In May of 2008 we will be married 38 years. He is my best friend and the person nothing else seems of value without. He is the Father of our son and my life’s companion. He is as beautiful inside as out. Yes, love at first sight happens when that love is the one meant to be, the one!

    Jen,
I am also a firm believer of love at first… smell in the morning! “He is a bit gassy.” This was the response I received one morning after a very close friend of mine had spent the evening in a tent with his relatively new girlfriend. The best part about it? The huge smile on her face after telling me this bit of information, that I may or may not have needed to know. I said it to them then and still stand firm, that is true love at its very best right there.
